Welcome to the home of Sasa African Dance Theater… After many years of traveling, giving service and struggling, we have finally come home to ourselves and our community. Join us as we use this space to share our journey through music, movement and meaning. We are just getting started, and look forward to the road ahead, beginning with our 2nd annual celebration of cultural arts in the form of Fareboronde, an African Dance and Drum Concert that will be taking place this Friday in Fort Lauderdale.
Due to the generous support of local dance organizations Ballet Florida, Ovations Global Network and Delou Africa, we are also pleased to offer a a mini-workshop series by Ivory Coast Dancer/Choreographer Jean Claude Lessou, who comes to us by way of Austin, Texas, where he teaches weekly dance classes and travels the country with a very distinct choreography which has evolved into a unique and exciting style that we have come call “System Positif”.
